How can I book the facility for recreation use?

The booking of the above sports facilities for recreation use is open to NTU full-time students (including exchange students) and staff. 

Individual bookings for these facilities must be made via Enterprise Facilities Booking System (EFBS) before use.

SRC Sports Facilities Booking Terms & Conditions (For Individual Usage)

1. Eligibility

  • Bookings are strictly limited to full-time NTU/NIE students and staff only.

2. Booking Duration

  • Each user may make one (1) booking per 7 days, with a maximum duration of 1 hour per booking.
  • Subsequent bookings can only be made 7 days after your last booking.

3. Sport Categories

  • Racket Sports: If you book 1 hour for a racket sport (e.g., badminton), you will not be able to book other racket sports (e.g., tennis, table tennis) within the same 7-day period.
  • Team Sports: If you book 1 hour for a team sport facility (e.g., Main Field 1B), you will not be able to book other team sport facilities (e.g., outdoor basketball court, multi-purpose field) within the same 7-day period

4. Double Bookings

  • If your account makes multiple bookings within the same restricted period, one of the bookings will be cancelled, and further booking privileges may be suspended.

5. Usage Restrictions

  • Bookings are strictly for recreational use only.
  • Unauthorized organized events (e.g., external collaborations, commercial activities, or events not approved by SRC) are not permitted.
  • SRC reserves the right to revoke bookings and take further action in case of misuse.

6. Cancellations by SRC

  • SRC reserves the right to cancel bookings at short notice in the event of facility maintenance, safety issues, official events, or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Users will be informed as early as possible if such cancellations occur

Guide for Checking/Booking of SRC Sports Facilities

  1. Log in to Enterprise Facilities Booking System (EFBS) (Best viewed on desktop or tablet with screen size of 1920px X 1080px).

2. Click ‘Quick Booking’

3. Click the date shown to open the calendar and select a preferred date (up to 7 days ahead) e.g. If today is 1 Sep, you can book up to 8 Sep.

4. To check the availability:

a) Badminton / Tennis / Squash Courts and Table Tennis Tables

i) Select from the Category drop down list - ‘Sports – Racket Sports’

ii) Select the following locations to view/book the different facilities:

  • North Hill 21B-1: Badminton Courts and Table Tennis Tables
  • SRC – 1: Squash Courts and Tennis Courts
  • 30 Nanyang Link -1: Tennis Courts

b) Basketball / Main Field / Multi-purpose Court / Multi-purpose Field and Outdoor Futsal Court

i) Select from the Category drop down list – ‘Sports – Team Sports’

ii) Select the following locations to view/book the different facilities:

      • SRC – 1: Basketball (1/2 court), Main Field (1/2 field), Multi-purpose Court 3 (with Volley Post & Nets), Multi-purpose Field (1/2 field) and Outdoor Futsal Courts
      • Hall 2 – 1: Multi-purpose Court 4 (with Volley Post & Net) and Multi-purpose Court 5 (suitable for Netball / Futsal)
  1. To book the facility, click on the space for the facility and time slot that you wish to book

a) A Booking Details page will be displayed:

i) Fill in the “Purpose” of use field

ii) Ensure the booking name, email address, location, date, and time is correct

iii) Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions

iv) Tick the agreement box

v) Click “Submit” to confirm the booking

  1. You will receive a booking confirmation Ref.No in EFBS and via email notification, once the facility has been booked successfully.

7. Bookings can be cancelled before the date of use, and you may re-submit a booking (subject to the SRC Sports Facilities Booking Terms and Conditions).

a) To cancel the booking:

i) Click on your booking slot

ii) Click on “Cancel Booking”

iii) Click on “Cancel Selected Booking”

iv) Click “OK” to confirm the cancellation.

8. You will receive an email notification of the booking cancellation

Nestled within the North Hill halls of residence, it is the largest gym on campus. Besides a wide variety of cardio machines, stack-weight machines and free weights, the gym features Queenax, a state-of-the-art functional training system. 

Temporary Closure of the Swimming Complex from 18 to 28 Dec 2025

The NTU Swimming Complex will be closed from Thursday, 18 December 2025 to Sunday, 28 December 2025 to facilitate essential rectification works.

 Every effort will be made to minimise disruption and expedite the rectification works, subject to prevailing weather conditions.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and seek your kind understanding and patience as we work to upgrade our campus facilities.

  3. Access to the swimming complex or part of may be adjusted on occasions due to extenuating circumstances.


The newly upgraded NTU Swimming Complex offers a refreshed and inclusive space for fitness, leisure, and recreational needs, with the following amenities:

The NTU Swimming Complex is located at 20 Nanyang Green Singapore 637715.

  • The nearest carpark is Carpark K.
  • A short walk from the Hall 2 and Hall 6.
  • The nearest bus stops and bus access are:
    • Hall 2 via Bus 179, 179A, 179B and Campus red and green loop
    • Opp Hall 2 via Campus green loop
    • Hall 6 via Campus blue loop
    • Opp Hall 6 Bus 179, 179A and 179B

 

Eligibility for Access

  • All NTU students and staff are eligible to use the Swimming Complex.
  • Family members of NTU staff are also welcome even if they live off-campus, on the following conditions:
    • The staff member must have successfully booked a slot in advance via EFBS. Each booking slot is for 4 persons maximum (including the staff member).
    • The staff member must be physically present to sign in their family members at the pool.

Dive in and enjoy the refreshed NTU Swimming Complex — a space for health, wellness, and community at NTU.

Only NTU students and staff are eligible to use the facilities.  NTU student matriculation/ staff card must be produced when requested for verification purposes.

Shared Recreational Spaces

Other than facilities which are governed by their respective usage/membership rules, all other facilities are open for shared recreational play on a 'when-available' basis.  No reservation of facilities is allowed, except for approved activities by organized groups.

  • Only non-marking soled shoes should be worn on the indoor courts. Players should be suitably attired.
  • For your safety, you are advised to stop play outdoors and move into nearby buildings when there is lightning or when the lightning warning siren is sounded or when it is raining.
  • All activities after 9.00pm should be within acceptable noise level in order not to cause disturbances to the nearby staff quarters. No excessive noise levels or use of PA systems are allowed after 10.00pm and before 9.00am.
  • Animals/pets are not allowed at the sports facilities including the outdoor and indoor facilities, running track and all playing fields.
  • Day lockers are provided to store your belongings while you exercise. You are strongly encouraged not to bring valuable belongings while having your workouts.  Overnight use of the lockers is not permitted. Please clear out your belongings by 10.00pm.
  • Users are requested to take good care of the facility & equipment. Any damage should be reported to the staff on duty immediately. If the damage is not a result of normal wear and tear but due to misuse, users will be held responsible for its repair/replacement. 
  • Users should not be using the facility under the influence of any substances, medication and/or alcohol that may affect their physical, mental and cognitive state.

The entire Sports & Recreation Centre, including the outdoor facilities and carpark areas, are designated smoke-free. All users are to refrain from smoking in these areas.  The Sports and Recreation Centre reserves the right to refuse usage of sports facilities to any person who breaches the rules and regulations. Appropriate action will be taken against anyone who fails to comply by the rules.

Nanyang Technological University, its staff and agents, shall not be liable or be held responsible for any mishap, injury, disability, death, damage or loss of property or any other loss/damage arising from or in connection with the use of its sports facilities/equipment.

NTU Gym Rules & Regulations

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of those using the gym, gym users should comply with the following rules and regulations at all times: 

  • Gym users must be at least 16 years old to use the gym equipment.
  • Gym users should be properly attired i.e. in workout clothing and covered athletic shoes.
  • All personal belongings must be securely stored in the shelves or lockers provided.

Health & Safety

  • If you have a pre-existing health condition, please consult your doctor or healthcare professional before using the gym. If you feel unwell at any time, stop your workout and seek medical attention.
  • Avoid lifting excessively heavy weights beyond your personal capacity. Always have a spotter when lifting weights above you.
  • Be sure to employ the proper form/techniques for all exercises to prevent injuries.

Gym Etiquette

  • Before starting your workout, please inspect the gym equipment/machines to ensure it is in good condition. Report any malfunctioning or broken equipment to the Sports and Recreation Centre staff immediately.
  • Release or put down weights in a controlled manner, being mindful of the safety of those around you. Always return the weights to their designated positions after use.
  • For the purposes of cleanliness and hygiene, please wipe down gym equipment after using them.
  • Show consideration for other users by sharing the gym space and equipment. All phone calls should be taken outside the gym so as not to disturb others.

While reasonable safety precautions have been taken in relation to the use of the Gym, please note that you use the Gym at your own risk. Neither NTU nor its employees shall be liable for any loss or damage to property or death or personal injury, arising from your use of the Gym. If there was any negligent or non-compliant use of the Gym and its equipment, users will be  required to cover the cost of replacement for any damages incurred.

If any non-compliance with the above rules and regulations is observed, NTU management and staff on duty reserve the right to refuse a person entry into the gym or to ask the person to leave the premises.

General Admission

  • Please produce proof of identity, e.g. NTU Pass app or membership card, when requested by pool staff.
  • Children aged 12 years and under must be always accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult. Children aged 6 years and under must be kept within arm’s reach of the supervising adult. Each adult may supervise only one child at a time.
  • Individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and pets, are not allowed in the complex.

Prohibition

  • Smoking, vaping and alcohol consumption are strictly prohibited within the premises.
  • Coaching, personal training, competitions, or commercial activities are not allowed without prior written approval from management.
  • Filming or photography is not permitted without authorisation.
  • Glass containers are strictly prohibited.

 Attire and Hygiene

  • Proper swimwear, e.g. swimming trunks, swimsuits, rash guards, must be worn. Clothing not designed for swimming, e.g. undergarments, street clothing, translucent and non-colourfast materials, are not allowed in the pool.
  • All users must shower before entering the pool.
  • Footwear must be removed before entering wet areas.
  • Infants and toddlers who are not toilet-trained must wear swim diapers at all times.

Safety Rules

  • If you have a medical condition, please consult a doctor before swimming.
  • If you feel unwell, stop your activity immediately and seek assistance from the lifeguard.
  • Do not enter the pool if you have an open wound, skin irritation, or communicable diseases, for the health and safety of all users.
  • For your safety, dangerous activities, e.g. diving, plunging, running, pushing, horseplay, somersaults or rough play, are not permitted.
  • Avoid prolonged breath-holding or underwater games that may pose a drowning risk.
  • Starting blocks are for competition and approved training use only, under supervision. Do not use them otherwise.
  • No spitting, nose-blowing, or bodily waste in the pool. This is to maintain water hygiene.
  • Only approved, safety-certified personal flotation devices are permitted. Large inflatables, oversized floats, or non-swimming toys are not allowed.
  • Only swimming goggles are permitted. Other equipment, e.g. kickboards, may only be used with lifeguard approval.
  • If you notice anyone in distress, please alert the lifeguard immediately.
  • Evacuate the pool promptly when instructed by lifeguards or during lightning or inclement weather.

Management Rights

  • Lockers are available for use. All belongings must be cleared by the end of operating hours. Items left overnight will be removed. Management is not liable for any loss or damage to personal belongings.
  • Management reserves the right to close any pool or facility for maintenance, safety, or special events.
  • Please follow the instructions of lifeguards and pool officials at all times.
  • Management reserves the right to refuse entry or remove anyone for misconduct, unsafe behaviour, or failure to comply with these regulations.
Advisories For Event Organizers
  • To clear away all foreign materials introduced during the event.
  • To clear away all debris and wastes from the events and deposit them at the Bin Centre at Hall 6.
  • The afternoon surface temperature of the artificial pitch may exceed 50 degrees. Please ensure that participants are properly attired with shoes and clothing and properly hydrated.
Prohibited Usage                                             
  • Use of seeds, beans, soap, paint, detergent, flour, solvent, other fluids and possible contaminants.
  • Use or introduction of sharp materials including nails, pins, pegs or rocks.
  • Set-ups with point loads including tables, chairs, platform and stages.
  • Tug-of-war and events involving dragging along the surfaces.
  • Activities deemed to be environmentally unfriendly – including water bombs, and activities with excessive water wastage.
